Children
FOOD and DRINK:
- Do NOT allow your child to eat or drink anything after midnight, including water, milk, any type of juice, soft drinks or Kool-Aid.
- Do NOT allow your child to chew gum suck on candy, or swallow toothpaste before surgery.
COMFORT:
If your child has something that gives them a sense of security, such as a stuffed animal or a blanket, please bring it with you on the day of surgery.
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- At least one parent will be required to remain in the center during your child’s surgery and recovery.
- Do NOT bring other young children with you to the center.
- When your child awakens after surgery, you will be able to be with your child as soon as his/her condition is medically safe and stable.

Special Needs Adults
CONSENT:
On or before the day of surgery, the patient’s legal guardian must sign to give consent.
HEALTH HISTORY:
Please provide information as to the patient’s recent health information, medications, etc.
FOOD and DRINK:
It is very important to follow the instructions for the day before surgery.
PERSONAL ATTENDENT:
- A responsible adult, such as a parent or legal guardian, must remain at the center from the time the patient is admitted until discharge.
- A personal attendant must stay with the patient for 24 hours after discharge from the center.
